When do you all think your coming to the Chicago area or Star Plaza in Indiana ?

Hi my favorite group of all time Kindred the Family Soul ,

I am looking everywhere to see when you all will be in the Chi-town area or coming to Star Plaza
Theater in Indiana. I miss you all so much and would love to see you all this summer. Your songs always lift me up when my husband and I are having a hard time and right now it is very hard. Yet, through it all we have love , and prayer and Kindreds music to help…

Diva Inspiration: The Life You Complicate Just Might Be Your Own

www.larominae.com

I come from a serious place when I say this to you. Be careful of the things you do and say about people. Defaming someone’s character and sending idle threats on a consistent basis is nothing to joke around with. You are dealing with someone’s life here. The hurtful things you say and do just please your own selfish desires are not… Continue

Secrets Are Not Always About Deceit

In relationships we often confide in our lover or mate. We share our past with them, no matter how ugly it is. We share our hopes and dreams with them ,no matter how far fetched it may seem. We share other people drama in hopes that it will make our problems seem lighter . And we do this all because it helps to build the companionship. It allows us the comfort of knowing that we can share any and everything without judgment. Being open in your relationship… Continue

A day In Your Life

www.larominae.com

"If I am so sweet why won't life just give me what you have?" Chrisette Michelle

It's amazing how we become fascinated with others and what we see on the outside. Everything seems so perfect, so beautiful so complete. We would go to extremes to be like others to the point where if we could buy a day in their life we would. What most people fail to realize is that everything that glitters is definitely not gold. It's like… Continue

WHY MY LTTLE GIRLS CANNOT WATCH BEYONCE VIDEOS

FIRST SOME FACTS

1. I AM NOT A HATER

2. I AM A BIG BEYONCE FAN

3. I AM NOT A PRUDE

NOW, I AM TRULY DISGUSTED AT HOW WE ALLOW OUR GIRLS TO LITERALLY LEARN HOW TO BE VIXENS BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD. SOMEHOW THE CONCEPT OF A GLAMOUROUS , LARGER THAN LIFE, FEMALE SINGER WHO GIRLS COULD LOOK UP TO HAS TURNED INTO SOME SORT OF STRIPPER TRAINING MANUAL THAT I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH. AS WOMEN WE ALL WANT TO BE ALLURING AND… Continue

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY?

OK SO I WAS DISCUSSING THE NEW CIARA VIDEO AND SONG WHICH BASICALLY HAS HER SHOWING HOW GOOD SHE RIDES THE "BEAT".......AND OF COURSE SINCE THE OTHER PERSON I WAS DISCUSSING IT WITH WAS A MAN, HE FELT LIKE "YEAH" THAT'S WHAT'S UP. WOMEN NEED TO WATCH IT AND LEARN SOMETHIN. TAKE IT BACK TO YOUR MAN AND HOOK HIM UP. NOW I PERSONALLY DON'T LIKE THE DIRECTION THAT CIARA IS GOING WITH HER MUSIC OR VIDEOS..I PERSONALLY AM GETTING TIRED OF FEMALES GETTING NAKED AND SELLING THEIR BODIES BASICALLY.…

Reflections of A Mother

(1) For Devohn

Have you ever given birth to a professor? I have. His brilliance has

amazed me since he was 2 hours old. Tired and unsure if I would be a

good mother, he smiled and assured me that he was in safe hands. My

arms, all of 14 years old hugged his small body and he went to sleep so,

I went to sleep. His dreams became my dreams. He taught me first hand

on how to trust a person could love, right or wrong. He says everything

he learned about being… Continue

Sewer-Side Mind

...

I remember that Friday night Saturday morning

Like it was yesterday

So, the memory replays in my mind and it

doesn't seem too far off,

I rewind the tape just to be sure

I am not crazy...I rock back and forth, but

I am not going insane...out of my mind, yet not mad about

A madness I couldn't prevent.

The day eerie in every way disturbing

Still I moved forward in my search for an apartment

For my sweetheart, (my throwback love of… Continue

Via-www.philly.com The Phila Inquirer 5/7/10

Any mother struggling under the weight of car seats and sippy cups must wonder how in the name of sanity Aja Graydon Dantzler juggles it all.

She has more than earned her Mother's Day brunch.

Not only does she handle the everyday stresses of motherhood, but she's also doing it pretty much in the public eye, along with husband Fatin… Continue

My journey thru the beauty of homebirth

by Aja Graydon Dantzler

For some reason when you say the word homebirth, especially to black folks it conjures up some vision of an outhouse in the woods, a screaming sweating mother and an old lady holding tattered blankets with a pan of hot water. I don’t judge though because I was once that person. When I was pregnant with my first child I was new to Philadelphia and needed to find an OB/GYN. I asked my sister-in-law for a referral. She told me she had used a midwife for the birth… Continue

Understanding Life and Death

My grandmother told me I was special, early on. She said I saw things. Had a secret gift Heaven didn't give to all her children, only the ones who would use it wisely. She said, "Baby, God knows who to give what to." She confided in me when I was child. Trusted me with her tears. Told me stories of the back woods of Mississippi, the dirt roads she and her mother traveled. The blisters she saw on her mothers hand, the few nicks…
