Traveling the world and seeing ourselves on TV not withstanding, we are at our core a "normal middle class family". So when faced with a tumbling economy, a mortgage, six mouths to feed and fans with very little money to spend on concerts and CDs we did what anyone would do…we panicked! After the initial shock we quietly remembered who we were and the quiet became still and the still became peace. Somewhere in between taping our family shenanigans (which morphed into our web series "6 is it "), launching our website, giving birth and saying goodbye to Hidden beach! We wrote songs. Songs that reflected our struggle and the beauty of what could not be taken from us....Gratitude
We reconnected with our fan base in new ways and really got to know them. Their love and strength helped us appreciate our gift and energized us to move forward!
When we began compiling the songs we knew that the theme of the album would have to truly reflect the times and so we initially called it "The Great Recession" but near the end of the process with the help of our fans we decided that our statement had to express triumph so we renamed it "Love Has no Recession" and just like so many words before them, those words had already started to manifest in our lives. We placed our "Love" in all that we did and indeed it has only moved ahead. It is our prayer that this offering will inspire and as always be a voice for those who truly relate to our message. It is equally socially conscious as it is all grown up and sexy like. It is quite simply…US.

Kindred The Family Soul delivers what may be the first modern mainstream album to so fully, genuinely. and unpretentiously embrace the concept of hearth, home and family. Using a spare, easy-flowing old school soul duet template of the type employed to great effect by Gaye/Terrel, Flack/Hathaway and Labelle/Womack, Aja Graydon and Fatin Dantzler sound less like a revival act than a classic thrift-shop find.
Lest one think that SURRENDER TO LOVE is a warm-and-fuzzy Christian-pop style affirmation of 7th HEAVEN-esque plastic perfection, Kindred The Family Soul isn't afraid to drag out the dirty laundry. Few albums celebrate and examine the completely unglamorous minutiae of daily life in such an affecting and creative manner. An amazingly substantive and accomplished debut, the disc serves as a challenge to all other artists to abandon the Hollywood banalities and get down to the nitty-gritty of making art.

Husband and wife team Fatin Danzler and Aja Gaynor, together Kindred the Family Soul, create music which could emanate only from two souls in spiritual touch, as they explore each other's dark and glorious passages and unfold the oft-forgotten sensuality in undying love. IN THIS LIFE TOGETHER builds on the immense promise of the duo's 2003 debut SURRENDER TO LOVE, as Kindred create lush, lolling landscapes crafted with bits of funk, hip-hop, and jazz of all shades. The power of the concoction is overwhelming on tracks like "Let It All Go," a song blending sensitive and sexy that recalls Al Jarreau, Billie Holiday, and Parliament.
