to be honest the size of the celebs dont matter as long as there talent is 100%. And they must wear clothes that fit and are compatible to their shape and size. Meaning just cause they make a size XXXL booty shorts or a XXXXL shiny suit dosent mean your wear them. And on the flip side if they know they are a XXXL dont try to squeeze in to a Medium! I will support my favorite celebs with or with out girth, they are human too.
I don't care what the size, I care more about talent. But, lately my heart has been heavy beacuse when I see my beautiful black peopel we are making poor choices about what we put in our bodies. Our bodies are truly a temple and should be treated as such. That being said, I don't buy music because of what the artist looks like....it is what they say and how they say it!
It doesn't really matter to me. If that person/group "can sang" than thats just it. I would be moved by great music either way. Now would I say "oww you go" if they slim down some yes, but other than that I would be a fan no matter what.
It's not so much that actor X has lost weight or even had some nips and tucks. It's the media that tries to convince us to obsess over that person. And the scrutiny is more on the women than it is the men. We snub our noses at the fat female actors but not the gangling male actors. At the end of the day, as long as the actor subscribes to our Western version of beauty, we will support them. For very few, it is about the talent. Halle Berry is gorgeous. Great actor? Nope. Not even close. And I dare anyone challenge that! I support the sistas but I single her out cuz I'm still not over that Oscar win for, "make me feel goooooood." (tiddays out!)
I look at it like this: the skinny folks aint sellin neither! I dont care what you look like as long as I can enjoy what you've presented to me
What is the world coming too? I want to be entertained feel something from a song. If you are skinny or heavy I don't care just supply something that will bring a smile to my face.
It matters a bit to me. I like stars I can relate to, it feels more personable when "they" ( stars) have qualities or goals similar to mine in life, one of which us looking the best I can. Let's be real, how many if us dog celebrities once they get fat, and then be hype all over them when they lose weight, like it's the new thing. I think that with celebs having the exposeure they have to influence their audience they should do postive things like maintain a healthy life style by staying fit and eating healthy.
I am comfortable with any artist who remains true to his or herself and their music and the music and lyrics MOVE me, NOT their size.

I agree. Size doesn't and shouldn't matter when it comes to talent, but unfortunately, where women are concerned, size seems to be a major factor as a female singer or actress' selling point. Some women downsize not necessarily for health but because they are in jeopardy of losing their careers and told they MUST lose weight or else. Some do lose the pounds for health reasons. Bottom line - health or illness do not pick and choose who to hit based on size. You can be fat and fit or skinny and sick and vice versa.

TOTALLY AGREEING!
There are so many artist that are thin with no skills. The talent always speaks or itself.
I feel comfortable when they are honest about their reasons for loosing weight. If you, as an actor/actress are being told that producers are not considering you because of your weight then it is to your advantage to do something about the weight...Just be honest about it.
Being a big spiritual person, I am more concerned that they are happy and healthy, whatever state of weight they may be in! It comes across sometimes with some artists when they refer to their weight during their performances..I think whatever that is healthy and good for your soul, you should do it! Not because of p.r. or image control or whatever management or the label say..being real people is what we all need right now..especially in a recession!
